We are looking forward to welcoming all children back to school on Monday 31st of August. The Ministry of Education has said that schools are safe places for children and staff to be. If your child has a pre-existing condition which makes them more vulnerable to illness, please email office@takanini.school.nz or phone us on Monday so we can make a plan for a safe return to school.
Entrance will be through the front gate only. We encourage parents not to come on the school grounds unless they need to. If you do need to come on site, please scan the Covid Tracing App QR code or sign the register at the gate.
There will be no Breakfast Club this week. Please drop your child off between 8.30am and 8.50am and collect them from the gate at 3.00pm. If you have borrowed a school Chromebook please send it back to school with your child on Monday.
We are looking forward to welcoming all children back to school on Monday 8 March. The Prime Minister has advised that in Alert Level 2 schools are safe places for our children and staff. If your child has a pre-existing condition that makes them more vulnerable to illness, please email office@takanini.school.nz or phone us on Monday so we can make a plan for a safe return to school.
Entrance will be through the front gate on Takanini School Road only. The back gate will be locked.
Any families coming onto the school site must scan the Covid 19 Tracing App QR code or sign the school register which will be outside of the main office. This includes coming on to school grounds to drop off and pick up children. Please do not enter our school grounds unless essential.
Some key points to keep everyone safe:
Hand sanitising and washing as you enter school and when you enter and exit classrooms
Coughing into elbows
NOT coming to school if unwell. Any child who arrives at school unwell will be immediately sent home. This is going to be incredibly important and we will be asking for your support in this. We know we try to carry on through sickness such as the cold or a cough but at Alert Level 2 we need to be strict with both students and staff
Distancing- attempt to keep one metre from others
You can wear a mask if you would like to
Students must bring a bottle of water daily and they will be supervised to refill it
Please make sure home hygiene habits are practised by everyone, as this is essential to minimise the risk that someone gets infected with Covid-19.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we all work together to make learning at Level 2 successful for all of our children.
Updated Sunday 28 February
The Government has announced that we are at Level 3 for the next 7 days.
We will be providing online learning through our Learning Hub. Please click on the Learning Hub button at the top of our homepage. You can also find the email address for your child’s teacher here too.
Please don't send your children to school unless you are an essential worker and there is no one at home to look after your child. If you are an essential worker and your child needs to attend school, you must register your child to attend school by emailing your children's names, the essential work that you do and your work phone contact to office@takanini.school.nz. You must give 24 hours notice. Please be aware that school starts at 8:50 and finishes at 3pm, and children will be supervised while following a distance learning programme at school.
